Revolution in the Classroom

Welcome-back-kotter

What makes a difference in educational outcomes for school students?

Class sizes? Infrastructure? Access to resources? Laptops for students?

The research has one answer.

The quality of the teacher.

And where are we investing our money?

If you missed 4 Corners this week, it is well worth a look.

Hi Tony, I watched the four corners video, it’s a very thought provoking issue isn’t it. As a mum of 3 teenagers (2 in Yr 11, one in Yr 10), I find I’m thinking of these school issues considerably more these days! I also think we could have better outcomes if we employed the support & evaluation approach in our practices too, although it’s harder to spare a person for this kind of role in a small-medium sized business.

While I’m commenting I’ll also say that I really enjoy your blog, I have it on my google homepage and look it up semi-frequently. I work as a clinical co-ordinator in a general practice in Coburg, Vic., so I’m very interested in practice improvement too.
I’d love to hear more about how your nurse/s are utilised within your practice- I think there is a good case for advanced practice nurse roles (such as specialist nursing and coordination roles)in Aust general practice yet they are few and far between. What are your thoughts on this?
    Kind Regards,
    Juliet.
